The casino parties we go to are in some was similar but never the same. Sometimes it depends on the location, sometimes the event, sometimes even the people. In my experience, however different they are, they’re always a great success. Here are three quite different casino parties we’ve attended recently that helps prove the point.
Casino Party for a 30th Birthday
Heather contacted us over a year ago as she was organising her son’s 30th birthday party in a well known golf club near Bristol. We knew the venue – ideal for the size of party Heather planned. There was to be around seventy guests for her Vegas themed event. As well as the fun casino, she’d booked a good DJ and an Elvis tribute.
Good Planning.
As the big day drew near, Heather was sure to confirm with all suppliers everything was in place. However, when we showed up an hour or so before guests were due to arrive – disaster struck! The club’s electricity had blown and there was no power in the building at all. Decorations that had been so lovingly placed that afternoon had to be removed and everyone asked to leave the building. Heather was in tears.
Elvis Enters the Building (and Saves the Day)
Amazingly, all was not lost. ‘Elvis’ came to the rescue as he knew of an available local village hall. One phone call later and we all helped ‘up sticks’ and moved to the hall. Tears were replaced with laughter. Everyone helped from pinning banners to shopping in Tesco for drinks and ordering 50 or so take-away pizzas! Our casino tables were full of very happy guests and although the ‘surprise’ element had been abandoned when disaster struck, the birthday boy had the best night ever – and so did everyone else.

Casino Party for Weddings
We have seen, over the last few years how fun casinos are gaining in popularity. In particular, a fun casino at your wedding party is guaranteed to be popular. From eight to eighty, guests have enjoyed the thrill of a flutter with no risk. In recent times, with people able to hold their ceremony wherever they like, we have attended all sorts of venues big and small.
A Venue fit for a Wedding
Taylor and Josh’s wedding took place at the wonderful St Audries Park https://www.audries-park.co.uk/. We are proud to be a preferred supplier here. Even though the venue is familiar to us, the wedding parties are always catered to the specific wishes of the bride and groom. In this case, our couple had definite ideas on how they wanted the day to be. They wanted to balance the formality of the grand country house with the lovely laid back and casual atmosphere created by family and friends enjoying a wonderful day.
Fun Casino Highlights
For Taylor and Josh we took our two most popular games, roulette and blackjack. As requested we opened the gaming right after the wedding breakfast speeches. Each guest had found their fun money in the favours envelope (Taylor asked us to send them the customised notes earlier). We were busy from the word ‘go’ with young and old competing for a high roller’s prize. Our worthy adult winner was presented with bottle of champagne. Our youngest players were awarded medals. All in all, this proved popular with young and old. Pics by kind permission of Ash at https://www.firstlightphotographyweddings.co.uk/

Casino Party in a Field
Yes. No need to read that again! Our latest fun casino event took place in a field! Al fresco dealing was super fun and thankfully, although there were one or two showers, we were covered. The blackjack table was snug in front of a casino self standing banner. Cards and strong breezes don’t really go well together! Our roulette table I must admit, was not perfectly level. This gave the casino dealer the odd vertigo sensation. However it certainly didn’t give players any better idea of what number the ball was going to drop in.

Three in one Go!
If ever there was a good example of how versatile fun casinos are, this surely was a good one. Emma, who had made the booking told us the party was a combined celebration of her two adult son’s birthdays and her wedding anniversary. Their farm and gorgeous meadow provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Two and three sided tents gave cover to the disco, casino, buffet and seating area. Once the casino tables opened, betting was fast and furious with several more experienced players urging on the rest.
Casino parties – Never the Same – Always Good Fun
If people ask me why I run fun casinos I think the above heading says it all. Along with the other people that make up the Aces Fun Casinos team, I really appreciate the variety of venues, locations and lovely people that I meet. ‘Variety is the spice of life’ as the saying goes. Long live the difference!

Roulette or blackjack? This is a question I’m often asked. Which is the most popular casino game? Let’s take a look at them both as comparisons are difficult when they are two completely different games.
Roulette
Roulette – or to call it by it’s full name – American Roulette is the game most often seen in fun casinos and ‘real’ casinos. Not be be confused with the slower version of French Roulette and (heaven forbid) certainly not with Russian Roulette!
Roulette Wheel and chips
The wheel in the image is a typical American roulette wheel. Around the wheel are the various colours. Each player is given their own colour betting chips. This ensures that everyone knows whose bet is whose.
How is it played? Roulette is a game of chance. There’s no science to it. There are, on the table layout, 36 numbers and zero. The croupier or casino dealer rotates the wheel spinning the ball in the opposite direction. The object of the game is to predict which number the ball falls in. There are various ways of betting from even money bets to single number bets. Of course, the more numbers or combination of numbers that are covered, the easier it is to win and vice versa.
Here’s the luck – if your luck is ‘in’ you can win lots in a very short time as hitting a ‘straight-up’ on the nose number will bring you 35 chips to every one you placed there!
It’s a fabulous, exciting game, loved by thousands and played all over the world. Whether it’s played with real or fun money, the excitement of guessing the winning number is not diminished. Roulette is one of the most popular casino games there is.
Blackjack
Blackjack, like roulette, has various other names. While in the UK it is mostly known by this name, in other parts of the world it’s known as ’21’ or ‘Beat the Dealer’. It is often likened to a very similar game called ‘Pontoon’.
Blackjack Game
It’s alternative names give plenty of clues on how to play. The aim of the game is indeed to make a total of 21 with the cards you are dealt. The other aim is to beat the dealer. Bets are placed before cards are dealt. Hands are open as everyone is playing against the dealer and not each other. The dealer, having dealt two cards to each player will then ask each player in turn if they want more cards. It’s a very quick game – simply put, if a player’s hand is closer to 21 than that of the dealer, they win. If not they lose – or if it’s the same then the bet is a ‘stand-off’ or ‘push’.
Once again, along with roulette, blackjack shares the top spot for popularity in main stream and fun casinos. Some players prefer it because they have a semblance of control over what happens. Some because of the brilliant atmosphere around the table. There are no long odds as there are in roulette. Winning hands are paid even money (that’s 1-1). The only other payout is for a blackjack hand and that’s defined as the first two cards totalling 21. The odds on a blackjack hand are 3-2.
So – Roulette or Blackjack?
There really is no difinitive answer. From this author’s experience, spanning over thirty five years in the business I wouldn’t put my money on either!!! Now the irony doesn’t escape me but what I really mean to say is that they are both equally as popular albeit sometimes with different audiences. Both great games, both great fun. If you’re thinking about which – why not just get both? Contact
